Mangifera indica, commonly known as mango, is a species of flowering. It is a large fruit tree, capable of growing to a height of 30 metres (100 feet). There are two distinct genetic populations in modern mangoes – the “Indian type” and the “Southeast Asian type”.
This is a commercial variety of Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. Other synonyms of this variety are Sundari, Lal Sundari. The fruit is light Cadmium yellow with a blush of jasper red and abundant small, light-coloured dots. The skin is medium thick and can be easily separated. The fruit has sweet taste and abundant juice of good quality. It is an early season variety (April to May)
