Mangifera indica, commonly known as mango, is a species of flowering. It is a large fruit tree, capable of growing to a height of 30 metres (100 feet). There are two distinct genetic populations in modern mangoes – the “Indian type” and the “Southeast Asian type”.
The jumbo red mango fruit is elongated, with a prominent beak, and is normally yellow with green spots. It is a polyembryony-seeded variety. The flesh of the fruit is known for having very little fibre, strong and pleasant aroma, and very sweet taste.
